“Did you meet Chinese leaders in Singapore”, when asked by a reporter at the Tribhuwan International Airport, Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda, replied with no hesitation “NO”.
Dahal returned home Friday March 18, 2011 from his mysterious trip to Singapore wherein he reportedly attended a discussion program organized by Shanghai-China based “Asia Pacific and Exchange Foundation”.
Dahal is said to be the deputy president of the foundation.
“It was an unofficial trip”, he said and added, “No political meetings took place.”
To recall, a Kathmandu based influential weekly, Nepali Patra, dated March 18, 2011, has said point blank that Prachanda must have met the Indian RAW Chief who also flew to Singapore same day from Delhi.
The weekly reveals quoting high placed sources that “Chairman Dahal’s meeting with RAW chief in Singapore is being discussed in the diplomatic and political circles”.
The initiative is presumed to have been taken up by Shard Yadav of National democratic Alliance and heads Janata Dal United (JDU). Yadav supposedly enjoys cordial relations with Prachanda. The rest either the RAW or Prachanda know better.
